Oh, yay, I'm so glad you still like it!!! Of COURSE we'll come down there. All's we have to do is get our asses down to San Francisco, and then the rest will be easy! It shouldn't be too much longer, either, because our landlord/next-door neighbors are already packing their own house up, preparing to sell, so any day now they're going to be booting us out . . . terrifying but thrilling. I'd be scared to death if we didn't have Chris and Holly's kind invitation to stay with them until we find a place--and now you're inviting us to stop by L.A. TOO MUCH LOVE! I'LL EXPLODE!

    Phew!

You live in a studio? I LOVE studios! When I was a kid, I used to draw floor plans of the smallest possible one-room home, with a fold-out bed and other cool space savers. As an adult, I got to live in three--two with husbands--and I'm sure Chris and I will be living that way again VERY soon.

You would get us gigs?! Cool!! I guess I shouldn't be surprised: didn't you do that for Ugly Child? That would rock! YOU rock. We can't wait to see you again!!!!

*sends Megan & Chris lots o love*
My friend's dog had a stroke and I wish I could play her Lava Toad songs, or at least post the lyrics to cheer her up!

Oh, no! Poor puppy. Don't play her "Big-Head Dog"! Sadie died just before we recorded that, and listening to it always made Joe cry. Or maybe he was crying because we did a terrible job.

We just sent Ben all our lyrics and he's going to post them on the web site he's making us, so soon you'll be able to show your friend. Meanwhile, I'd be glad to e-mail them to her--or to anyone else. I'm flattered that you think our songs would cheer her up!

Allison, all this blushing is adorable! (Referring also to your messages last night.) Why are you embarrassed about this? That's so funny and cute!

Send us a list of the songs you want to learn and Chris would be happy to send you chord parts. I *would* just send you them all right now, but we don't have anything written out and also it's been five years since we recorded that CD, so Chris will need to relearn how to play them. But, again, he's more than happy to do it and write them down--chord parts, complete transcriptions, symphonic arrangements--whatever you want. (I'm actually not kidding about that last one--Chris would love to do that. He loves any excuse to practice orchestrating.)

Hater! You should receive your CD on Thursday or Friday, and you will see that it includes a fat little booklet of complete lyrics. See, that's what you were missing out on with the burned version . . . (But, honestly, everyone is free to do that. We are anti-copyright.) AAAAAAND, you and anyone else who buys a CD within the next few weeks, before Ben has our web site made, will be the LAST people to receive these booklets. We really like being able to include them--they're cute and useful--but they're very hard to make, so, once the lyrics are posted on our web site, we're going to stop. You're receiving a limited edition--woohoo!

Allie--We will send you a new booklet. Immediately. Meaning as soon as we have them again, which could be months from now. Doesn't it say right inside the cover that they're "Guaranteed against ants and other Formicidae"?

Oh, wait--but they weren't *winged* ants, were they? If so, that could be a problem: we only took out insurance against "the insects that have legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth." We couldn't afford coverage for "wing-ed insects that go on all fours." So let me know--we still may be able to work something out.

When you compile the song chords you should send them to me as well so they can be posted on the site along with the lyrics unless you'd prefer that the chords not be public.

                  So yeah. :)

Cool, Ben--it makes me so happy that you're so on top of this. I think I actually *would* like to keep the chords "by request only" (both of them*). I want them to be available only to those who want them badly enough to suffer the humiliation of begging, like Allie did. (And, Allie, we're still holding you to that offer. Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about.)

*As Chris says, Joe's songs fall into two categories: those that are based on an interchange of tonic and dominant, and those that are based on an interchange of tonic and sub-dominant. Don't ask me what the fuck he's talking about--I count THREE chords.

Oh, yeah, Megan, I'm probably gonna buy one for my sister as well. So if you see more PayPal money coming from me, that's what it's for. I'll have to dig up her address first. Cool! You are AWESOME!

                    Hater and Sister

                    Tue, March 1, 2005 - 6:28 PM
Cool, Hater! We have two--count 'em--two more, and we'll set aside one for you. (You might want to wait until you've heard it again before you buy one for your sister, though. Don't worry--we'll hold it for you.)

This morning Chris climbed into the ring with our printer again. Before, it was "Printer 205, Chris 3"; now it's "Printer 205, Chris 4."
